Jacques Pépin Describes His Perfect NY Day

When culinary legend Jacques Pépin was asked what his “perfect New York day” would be, the toque joked, “with my wife?” He then answered, “Seriously, I would want a couple of bottles of Moët & Chandon and a kilo of caviar, and we would spend it in bed together.” Pépin spoke at a party announcing plans for the University Settlement dinner and charity auction April 24 at 82Mercer, for which he’ll prepare a five-course meal with help from master pastry chef Jacques Torres and wine director Scott Carney.
