The less-photographed Olsen, Elizabeth (Lizzie), has generated buzz with her lead role in the thriller “Martha Marcy May Marlene,” but she’s not attributing her acting chops to her older sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley. She tells the October issue of Nylon: “I went through a phase when I first got into college [at NYU] where I was thinking if I don’t get a manager or agent, I’ll ask Mary-Kate and Ashley to help … but I never needed it.” Lizzie is a graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts and the Atlantic Theater Company. Watching her sisters grow up in the spotlight, she tells the magazine it initially deterred her from pursuing an acting career, adding, “They turned 18 and what was going on in her life — I’m talking Mary-Kate — was all over the news. They would follow us shopping and we would almost get into car accidents because of the paparazzi, and I didn’t want to be a part of it. I just thought, this is such bull[bleep].” [Page Six]
