What is it? For those of you not aware, the Vendy Awards is a fierce cook-off competition between NYC's best sidewalk chefs to see who's culinary skills can truly take the honor of being the best cart in the city. The finalists that made it this far were chosen by public nomination where people like you and me tipped off streetvendor.org on who we thought was worthy of this award.
The event is hosted by the Street Vendor Project which is a non-profit, membership based organization that stands up for vendors' rights.
This years finalists are as follows:
Fauzia Abdur-Rahman from “Heavenly Delights”
161st Street and Sheridan Avenue, Bronx
Meru Sikder from “Biriyani Cart”

Mohammed Rahman from “Kwik Meal”
