Malia Mills
During a recent interview, the Hawaii-born designer told us that her swimwear and ready-to-wear goods are all manufactured in NYC and New Jersey. As it turns out, she’s not the only local fave line to produce her wares stateside. Where to Shop It:Malia Mills, Bird.

With Ivy League-inspired looks dating back to 1902, the American-born brand produces all of it’s goods in New York state.

Pendleton Woolen Mills
A family owned business for over 140 years, Portland-made label’s stock has evolved to include hipster-loved vintage and luxury fabrics.

Billykirk
Launched in 1999, Billykirk specializes in handmade leather goods, wallets, belts, and the like. Fun fact: 80 percent of their goods are produced in east coast Amish country.

Epaulet
Fifty percent of the store’s string-ups, clogs, and outerwear are actually their own in-house brand, but the store also includes special edition and collaborative products sourced everywhere from Boston to The North Fork.

Prairie New York
Danielle Shriber’s jersey dresses are a perfect mix of Ralph Lauren-trained ease and downtown edge. All garments are crafted in the company’s West 38th Street Garment District studio.

Rag & Bone
Though special collections and designer collaborations are outsourced overseas, the label’s core denim line and cut-and-sew items are produced right here in the city.

Band of Outsiders
Scott Sternberg’s retro-vibed Band of Outsiders label was born in 2004 in Los Angeles and pieces are produced there to this day.

Freeman’s Sporting Club
FSC was established to sustain the idea of durable clothing. The store mantra, “Made local, buy local” isn’t just talk: Most all of their goods are manufactured within 10 miles of their Bleecker Street and LES shops.

Earnest Sewn
Apart from a just-opened downtown bespoke denim shop, the jeans brand—which looks to marry Japanese aesthetics with America-made toughness—produces all of its pieces just outside of L.A.

Lewiston, Maine was the handsewn footwear capitol of the world, until all of the people left; except Quoddy. Today, their designs are loved by urban and outdoor explorers alike.

Sperry
Connecticut founder Paul Sperry debuted the label in 1935, and the prepster-favored designs have been based there ever since.

Season after season, designer Eviana Hartman marries equal interests in straight up style and ecological sustainability. Not only is it Earth-friendly, but it’s produced here in the city, too.

Brooklyn-based designer Susan Domelsmith launched the brand as an experiment in reworked vintage. To this day each piece remains one of a kind, and custom commissions are always an option.

Garment District mainstay Yeholee Teng’s pieces have been featured in boutiques and exhibits around the globe, but the artful designer produces all of her wares on 38th Street.

H. Fredriksson
Created by Helena Fredriksson, H. Fredriksson combines her two worlds: her upbringing in Scandinavian culture, and her experiences of living in New York City. The designer creates pieces based on dark psychology films and contemporary paintings, as well as landscapes that she grew up around. The pieces are meant to be modern but with a sustainable conscious purpose.
