Little Veselka, the satellite coffee and to-go eatery of landmark East Village Ukrainian diner Veselka, will shutter its doors today at noon. Owner Tom Birchard announced he’d be closing the location early this month in advance of the much-delayed Veselka Bowery located just a few blocks away. After Little Veselka serves its final Madame Alexander (smoked turkey, white cheddar, and chipotle cranberry) in a few hours, they’ll clear out to make way for the next tenant, mac and cheese shopS’Mac. Meanwhile, Veselka Bowery is set to open in July, but given Birchard’s track record on the subject we won’t believe it until we’re at a table with a plate of pierogies in front of us. [The Feast]
