Fine Tuscan cuisine at bistro prices. For a restaurant that serves it's food to celebrities like Heidi Klum, Lindsey Lohan and Michelle Trachtenberg to name a few, you'd think
they would be charging an arm and a leg for a dish at this local favorite. Not the case at all seeing as their pastas starts at $11.00, panini's at $8.50 and desserts at $6.00.
Bar Pitti is one of the few restaurants in this city that truly understands the meaning of Al dente which many don't understand is the key to a great bowl of pasta. With that being said, Pitti can really dish out a good bowl with hearty sauces ripe with flavor and portions enough to satisfy the hungriest of men. Your stomach will seriously thank you.
The setting inside is simple, wooden tables and mirrored walls. The facade is fitted with doors opening onto the 6th Avenue sidewalk where tables are set up for outdoor dining (heat lamps and all). The perfect way to take in a brisk Fall afternoon.
Notable dishes we like are Anitpasto Tuscano (prosciutto di parma, salame loscano, formaggio & a slice of fettunta), Rigatoni Pitti (turkey sausage, peas, cream, tomatoes and parmigiano), Raviola Bella Vista Spinach (ricotta stuffed ravioli with olive oil, sage and parmigiano), Pappardelle Alla Fiesolana (flat large pasta with smoked bacon, cream, tomatoes and parmigiano).
