While David Beckham in his skivvies may not raise eyebrows anymore, the soccer mega-star’s new long-term collaboration with H&M has certainly generated headlines. His underwear range, dubbed “Bodywear,” is set to hit H&M on February 2.

The collection is the result of a whopping 18 months of development. In a statement, Beckham said: “Working with a team has always been a key part of my life and I found that to be the same when developing this range. Collectively with my design team we spent time working on the feel, fit and style to ensure the product is not only something I would wear but one which I would be proud to put my name to.”

The line, which was developed by Beckham’s in-house design team, was created with the star’s own aesthetic in mind. The waistband, for example, is deliberately minimal.

This first collection features nine pieces: four underpant silhouettes (briefs, boxer briefs, trunks, and woven boxers), three tops (a tee, a vest, and a henley), and pajama bottoms, as well as — surprise — long johns, which the brand calls “the secret favorite undergarment of many men in the colder months.” [Thread NY]
